Energy Independence Summit
Carina Soriano, CCFC Co-Coordinator, attended the Energy Independence Summit in Washington DC last week on February 10-12th. Centralina was glad to meet with other North Carolina folks from the Triangle Clean Cities Coalition as well as partner NC Clean Energy Technology Center. This annual event is the nation's premier clean transportation policy summit. The Summit provides a unique opportunity for Clean Cities Coalitions and leaders in the clean transportation industry to network and build partnerships with each other, and with key Congressional and Administration policymakers in Washington, DC. This year, our information to congressional leaders focused on stablizing Clean Cities program and clean transportation initiatives funding, continued support for extending alt fuel tax credits and grants such as the EPA Diesel Emission Reduction grant to assist our stakeholders with future fleet building money, technology, and opportunities. Interested? Transportation Energy Partners (TEP) hosts the Summit every year and we're always looking for more stakeholder involvement! Being a Clean Cities stakeholder assists with registration costs too. Contact Carina Soriano at csoriano [at] centralina [dot] org to see how to participate next year!
